Press Conference of the 12th CIFIT Held in Beijing
On July 24, Assistant Minister of Commerce Wang Chao, Vice Governor of Fujian Province Ye Shuangyu and Mayor of Xiamen Municipality Liu Cigui attended the press conference of the 12th China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT) in Beijing.
Wang Chao made an introduction on the 12th CIFIT. He said, China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) is presently the only international fair aimed at promoting two-way investment in China. It is also an important stage on which many countries showcase and promote their investment environments and projects.
Ye Shuangyu also introduced the relevant info on the 12th CIFIT. He said this year marks the 30th anniversary of the launch of China’s reform and opening-up drive; it is also the year the Olympic Games will be staged in Beijing. In the meanwhile, positive changes have taken place in Cross-Straits relations, and economic globalization and international industrial transfer are picking up pace. As such, the 12th CIFIT is facing unprecedented favorable opportunities. Themed on “Introducing FDI” and “Going Global”, the upcoming CIFIT will continue to feature a focus upon nationality and internationality, upon investment negotiation and investment policy promotion, upon coordinated development of national and regional economy, and upon economic and trade exchanges across the Taiwan Strait. With the strong support of the State Council and under the direct leadership of the Ministry of Commerce, preparations for CIFIT are progressing smoothly.
During the conference, Mayor Liu Cigui extended an warm invitation to all the attendees to go to visit Xiamen in the 12th CIFIT.
